Implantation can happen anywhere from 6-12 dpo, but most commonly 8- 9- or 10- (vast majority fall in this range) then it takes approximately 24 hours for hcg to rise enough to get a positive test so it is absolutely possible to test negative at 10 DPO and then test positive a day or two later.
