Magus build pathfinder
Like everyone says, magus is mostly melee damage with self buffs, those spell pen and ele focus feats are going to waste. Use self buffs, get 4 elements on your weapon (three with arcana), and grab Elemental Barrage. That's the basic way magus works right now. Str builds is more damage, while Dex builds can go into high AC tanks easier.
Remember that at it's core the magus is a martial class. It can be built as a controller caster. As a staff magus you only get light armor so you need some DEX but a staff can't be finessed so you need STR for hit/dmg. Also you don't care as much about crits as other magi so shocking grasp losses some appeal.
Honestly Shocking Grasp, Intensified Spell, and Magical Lineage are so good with a Magus that not taking them is like cutting off your nose to spite your face. Likewise, going STR build eliminates more options than it opens up.
