I just took delivery, after 7 months' wait, of a stainless Marlin 1894 in .44 mag. In my opinion, this is the ultimate utility gun. SHTF, defense, rural cop patrol gun, cowboy action shooting, plinking, and lower-48 states hunting -- there is not much it can't do well, except VERY big game hunting, and long-range shooting.
