Scenic Sky Chair rides are projected to open at Snow Valley starting May 24 with Friday through Sunday operations, including Monday, May 27 for Memorial Day. At Snow Summit, operations are expected to open daily starting June 7., You will also pass by the Big Bear Discovery Center. This is a great place to view the bald eagles who nest here from November through April. Castle Rock: This 2.7-mile out-and-back trail is moderately challenging and may be icy in the winter. Getting to the peak requires about 600 feet of elevation gain.
